About Dad Shoe Deals

Before I begin telling you all about Dad Shoe Deals, I have a confession to make: I stole the first pair of dad shoes I ever owned.

To be clear, I was 15, not 42, as I am now. I also “stole” these shoes — a pair of basic black-and-white Adidas Ozweegos — from my stepdad’s closet, not the local Foot Locker, after noticing that he never wore them.

Additionally, I returned these dad shoes to my stepdad later (about a decade later, but still!). Coincidentally, I found them shoved into the back of a different closet recently. They were in the same condition as when I gave them back to him. He must not have missed them all that much while I was busy running around in them almost 30 years ago.

Even still, I like to think that all of this helped me set a tone pretty early on in life: I love dad shoes — but I’m not going to spend a fortune on them!

Our Commitment to Finding the Best Deals on Dad Shoes

Since stealing my stepdad’s dad shoes, I haven’t stolen another pair of dad shoes (or any shoes, for that matter!). However, I haven’t ever paid retail price for a pair of dad shoes, either. In fact, I would go so far as to say I’ve probably never paid more than $100 for a pair.

I almost broke this trend in early 2025, when I first started seeing the New Balance 9060 in all its different colors. I briefly considered spending around $150 for a pair before realizing that 9060s go on sale all the time. In the end, I ultimately purchased my first pair for around $90.

At around this time, I also noticed that most dad shoes, including both classics like the Nike Air Monarch IV and more recent models like the 9060 and the New Balance 990v6, are marked down more often than I and, I suspect, others might realize.

This led me to conceptualize, develop, and eventually launch Dad Shoe Deals. It’s a site dedicated to identifying the best dad shoes and unearthing the latest dad shoe discounts.
